Kelly O'Brien MAES, MPl
Kelly O'Brien is a senior economic development planning specialist with extensive experience in economic base and sector analysis, investment attraction, economic components of official plans and growth management strategies, employment lands analysis/strategy development, and socio-economic/economic impact analysis. Kelly started her career with the DPA Management Consulting Group in Halifax, moving to Ontario a few years later and working as a senior economic planner with Dillon Consulting for many years. She later held the position of Manager in the Real Estate Advisory Practice at Arthur Andersen, being responsible for economic development projects throughout Canada. Prior to establishing EDP Consulting in 2005, Kelly was a Vice President and Director at Deloitte, responsible for economic development planning services out of the firm's Toronto office, including projects in Canada, the U.S and Hong Kong.
Kelly has been responsible for numerous economic development and investment attraction assignments as well as site selection assignments for private sector clients. Her experience undertaking site selection and opportunity analysis assignments for private sector clients and studies on behalf of economic development clients enables high level strategic insights into the key factors and drivers for mobile investment and economic development. Kelly also has extensive experience in economic impact analysis and on economic components of official plans and growth management studies.
Kelly's background includes over 20 years of professional experience in economic development planning, supported by master's degrees in economic development (University of Waterloo) and urban and regional planning (Queen's University).
